Glass Bridge

The World's first all-glass bridge without mechanical fixings Designed by Thomas Heatherwick.  A 16 meter long, 4.5 meter wide bridge made of 1334 glass sheets of 12mm thick compressed together to look like a beam.  For not having any metal fixing between the glass sheets gives it the best minimalist design I've ever seen.

Usually bridges and buildings are lit externally with light reflecting off their surfaces.  The Opportunity with this bridge is to light it internally with light transmitting through it.

Cant wait for this concept to be built in real life :)
